James Wilson (Australian rules footballer)

James Wilson was an Australian rules footballer who played with Geelong prior to their inception into the VFL.

Wilson was a former Melbourne Cup jockey but was most successful when roving for Geelong in the VFA, playing during the 1870s and 1880s. He is the only man in history to have won the Champion of the Colony award in three consecutive years, doing so in 1880, 1881 and 1882.
