"Silver" is the third live album released by Cheap Trick. It was performed at Davis Park in the band's hometown of Rockford, Illinois in 1999, to celebrate the band's 25th anniversary since their formation. It was recorded and released as a two-disc set in 2001, and was re-released in 2004 with 2 additional tracks ("Daddy Should Have Stayed In High School" and "On Top Of The World").

The band performed at least one song from each of their albums, including "The Doctor". It should be noted that "I Want You To Want Me" (from "In Color") was performed slightly differently, with the "I'd love you to love me" line sung in a different tune. Jon Brant made a brief return to play "If You Want My Love" and "She's Tight" (both from "One on One"). The band made acoustic arrangements of "I Can't Take It" (from "Next Position Please"), "Take Me To The Top" (from "The Doctor"), "It All Comes Back To You" (from their 2nd eponymous album), and "Tonight It's You" (from "Standing on the Edge"). Holland Zander, Robin Zander's daughter and former lead singer of The Snaggs, made a guest appearance to sing a duet version of "Time Will Let You Know" (from Robin Zander's solo album). Rick Nielsen did lead singing in "World's Greatest Lover" (from "All Shook Up").

The album is a treat for longtime fans, as unlike previous live albums, it contains live performances of rare songs, several from out-of-print albums. However critics don't see the same charm "At Budokan" had.Fact|date=September 2007

Trivia

*"I'm Losin' You" was a song from John Lennon's "Double Fantasy" album, back when Cheap Trick worked with Lennon. Lennon's wife Yoko Ono fired the band, but the song remained intact (with Nielsen's guitars and Carlos' drums) The song is also available in an unreleased remake of "In Color", which was produced by Steve Albini.
*Rick Nielsen was quick to point out after performing "Take Me To The Top" that every critic in the United States claimed "The Doctor" to be a terrible album.
*Holland Zander is Robin Zander's daughter, and the former lead singer of the disbanded The Snaggs. Ian Zander, Robin's eldest son, played Tiple and acoustic guitar and Zander's younger son, Robin Taylor Zander, also provided percussion at the concert.
*Daxx Nielsen played backup drums alongside Bun E. Carlos. Daxx is Rick Nielsen's son, and performs with various bands, including the Wandering Sons, who once performed a country version of "I Want You To Want Me". Rick's other son, Miles, helped provide acoustic guitar arrangements in several songs.
*Slash, of Velvet Revolver and Guns N' Roses fame, provided backup guitar for "You're All Talk". When Slash strummed during the start of the song, one of the strings popped, so he had to quickly get another guitar.
*Harlem High School's choir provided backup vocals in "Time Will Let You Know" It's interesting to note that Zander went to the same high school, and was part of the same choir.
*Billy Corgan helped play guitar in "Just Got Back."
*Art Alexakis made an appearance to help perform a cover version of The Beatles' "Day Tripper"
