"Peter Fanelli" in "Skyways"(William) Bill Stalker (1948 - 1981) was a
New Zealand -Australia nactor .Grew up in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand as the second of seven children to (Robert) Bob and Zena Stalker. Attended Canterbury University where he began his theatrical acting career. He was a keen motorbike rider and adventurer from a young age.
One of his early acting roles was as a biker in the New Zealand television series "
Pukemanu " where he starred with Ginette MacDonald. In 1971 he joined Bruno Lawrence's musical and theatrical co-operativeBlerta where he performed with many notable New Zealand entertainers including Beaver with whom he had two daughters. Australia in 1977 he joined the cast of theCrawford Productions police drama series "Cop Shop " as Detective Peter Fanelli. He moved to the Crawford airport drama series "Skyways" in 1979 with the Peter Fanelli becoming the head of airport security. After "Skyways" ended in 1981, the character returned to "Cop Shop " as a Detective Sergeant.Stalker was killed in a motorcycle accident only a few weeks after rejoining "
Cop Shop ". Then girlfriendCatherine Wilkin was injured in the accident. He is survived by four children: Eleanor and Greg Carr (fraternal twins, adopted as babies and tragically never meeting Bill) and Fritha and Kate Stalker.References
