url = [http://www.riparianplaza.com.au]Riparian Plaza is a 53-storey skyscraper located in the central business district of
Brisbane ,Queensland ,Australia . At 200 metres in height, it is the city's second tallest building, after the Aurora Tower. It is a mixed use building, with 11 car park levels from the ground up, 25 commercial levels, and 10 residential levels housing 50 penthouse apartments. On top of the tower is a 50 metre communications
spire , which does not count towards the official height of the building as only spires are recognised as part of the overall height. A recreation centre including a swimming pool is located on 39th floor, between the commercial and residential sections. The carpark is accessed via ahelical annexe.Construction and design
The building was designed by
architect Harry Seidler . Most office spaces have river views, due to the angle of the building and the lack of column on these mid level floors.cite web |url=http://www.infolink.com.au/n/Major-Brisbane-development-project-designed-by-Harry-Seidler-n752592 |title=Major Brisbane development project designed by Harry Seidler |accessdate=2008-09-20 |date=2000-11-16 |work=Infolink |publisher=Reed Business Information ] In October 2007, Riparian Plaza won the top prize for commercial architecture at the annual national architecture awards.
