Verandah Porche

Verandah Porche, born Linda Jacobs, is a well-regarded poet living in Vermont. She has written two books of poetry: "The Body’s Symmetry," (Harper and Row); and "Glancing Off," (See Through Books). The Vermont Arts Council in 1998 awarded Porche a Citation of Merit for her contribution to the state’s cultural life.

Porche was a cofounder of Liberation News Service (LNS) with Ray Mungo and Marshall Bloom. LNS split off from College Press Service (CPS) in a political dispute. Their adventures together were chronicled in two books by Mungo: "Famous Long Ago", and "Total Loss Farm".
