The three part Londinium episode during "Batman"'s third [ [http://www.angelfire.com/va/1966Batman/episodes6.html ** Episode Guide #6 **] ] and final season ("The Londinium Larcenies" [ [http://www.tv.com/batman-1966/the-londinium-larcenies-1/episode/6913/summary.html The Londinium Larcenies (1)] ] , "The Foggiest Notion" [ [http://www.tv.com/batman-1966/the-foggiest-notion-2/episode/6914/summary.html The Foggiest Notion (2)] ] , and "The Bloody Tower" [ [http://www.tv.com/batman-1966/the-bloody-tower-3/episode/6915/summary.html The Bloody Tower (3)] ] ) was the series tribute to the Swinging London period of the 1960s. At the time of the show, everything British was "hot" in North America. Many aspects of London were parodied during the three episodes. The city's name is changed to Londinium, which was the British capital's name during Roman times. Scotland Yard becomes "Ireland Yard" in the series. Carnaby Street becomes "Barnaby Street". Fleet Street, the city's press district, is changed to "Bleet Street".

Batcave

When Batman and Robin were asked to investigate a series of daring robberies in Londinium, they knew it would be dangerous fighting the master criminal, Lord Ffogg on his own turf, so the Dynamic Duo decided that they had to even the odds. They loaded the Batmobile and lots of crime-fighting equipment from the Gotham City Batcave [ [http://www.batmanytb.com/tv/60series/gadgets/batcave.php Batman: Yesterday, Today, And Beyond ~ The Batman Homepage ~ The Largest Batman Site on the Net! ] ] into a container and onto their steamship. When they arrived at the Londinium country manor house that Bruce Wayne had rented, Alfred quickly set up all the equipment in the secret dungeon underneath, and it became known as the Londinium Batcave. This new Batcave even had a handy isolated exit that led directly to the Queen's Highway.

People

*Superintendent Watson - Watson is the head of Ireland Yard, who requested Batman's aid through the Prime Minister. Watson's office is strikingly similar to that of Commissioner Gordon's, both in layout and decor.

*Cuthbert - Alfred Pennyworth's second cousin, who works as a cab driver.

*Lady Easterland - One of Londinium's upper class. She was one of the first victims of Londinium's recent crime spree.

*Duchess of Desborough - Another victim of Lord Ffogg, she was robbed of some diamonds.
