Skerne Park is a predominantly council owned
housing estate in the southern part of the borough of Darlington and theceremonial county ofCounty Durham ,England . It is situated on the southern edge ofDarlington . Skerne Park comprises streets named after well-known British rivers, such as Tweed Place, Hammond Drive, Severn Way, Tyne Crescent. This is because "Skerne Park" is built near theRiver Skerne . Skerne Park has been recently renewed, and is a minute's walk away from The South Park. In Skerne Park, there is aLondis Newsagent Store, a Post Office and Chatterbox Cafe, there is also a popular primary school serving the local area.Skerne Park Primary School has been operating for several years, but has recently undergone a refurbishment at a cost of around £4.1 million.
Skerne Park Primary School is just one facility in the huge building. The building's formal name is the Coleridge Centre. Other facilities in the Coleridge Centre are: Adult Learning, the ICT Suite, Surestart and many more. There are also two to three nurseries.
