Being officially employee of ICICI, he spent significant time as a volunteer and made various contributions to the growth ofPratham in its formative years, now a large not-for-profit organization focused on basic education in urban areas in India: CV Madhukar was part of the original Executive Group ofPratham in Mumbai.
