Jalbert was born in
Quebec City ,Canada , the son of a newspaperman, graduated from Ouellet College, and attended Laval University. A championski er he worked as a ski instructor at Sun Valley in the 1950s. In 1952 he went toHollywood looking for a job where he found employment as a film editor atMGM . In 1962 he got a steady acting role as French-speaking "Caje" Le May in the TV seriesCombat! .
