Juan Miguel Miranda (born April 25, 1983 in Consolación del Sur, Cuba) is a Cuban Major League Baseball first baseman for the New York Yankees.

Baseball

The 5-foot-11 Miranda batted .303 with 27 homers for Pinar Del Rio in Cuba's Serie Nacional from by|2002 to by|2004. He defected to the Dominican Republic in early 2004. He established residency in 2005 and was granted citizenship there in 2006.

He signed a four-year contract with the New York Yankees worth $2 million on December 12, by|2006. Juan has a son named Edgar Miguel Miranda who was born January 25, 2007. He loves music, especially salsa and hip-hop.
