Colegio Salesiano de León XIII is a school located in Bogotá, Colombia. As a school managed by the Salesians of Don Bosco, its main purpose is to educate students to become "good Christians and honest citizens". It was founded on September 1, 1890[1] with the additional purpose of supporting industrial education in Colombia.
Currently the school receives more than 2,000 primary and high school students every day. It earned the Bogotanean Excellence Prize 2005-2006, in recognition of its teaching and administrative management towards the innovation and improvement of education[2].
There are many projects that the school has developed, one of them is the Associationism, It's an activity where the students can choose a class what the want in 42 groups based on the research interests of them. In the Elementary and the Night High School there's organized another activity called Oratorio on Saturdays.
The school has a program where the students are in a Social Service, 10 and 11 Grade students must to do some of jobs in 32 associated organizations that provide community service.
The School's mission is provide an excellent educational services to young people. It is close to the working-class districts, the downtown and the Historic Town of the city. The educational action answers to needs and aspirations, promote, through education to build a better country, based on the affirmation of human rights and fundamental values of the Gospel.
The Elementary, Junior and High School students' families are from High - Medium sectors of Colombian society, their education seeks to train young people as aware and active citizens and believers convinced and consistent, become professionals with a clear social conscience and belonging Church, committed to building a new country with a Christian.
The Colegio Salesiano de León XIII is the El Camarín del Carmen (old theater) and Our Lady of El Carmen Church owner.
