Pleasant is another name for the lower Broadway neighborhood of Newark, New Jersey, USA. It is an Urban Enterprise Zone and is poor. It is named for the hill overlooking the Passaic River on which it rests.

A number of landmarks in the neighborhood include the former teachers college. This pretty structure is located on the corner of Broadway and 4TH avenue, and is today University high school. It also served as the temporary home of Arts high school in the 1990s.
