State Route 432 is a spur route of SR 4 beginning west of the cities of Kelso and Longview, Washington. Beginning at SR 4, SR 432 travels east on Mt Solo Road. As it enters the industrial area of Longview, the road changes to Industrial Way. After the junction of SR 433 and Lewis and Clark Bridge access, SR 432 turns north to an interchange with Tennant Way. SR 432 enters Tennant Way, which becomes a freeway eastbound for the last four miles to a large interchange with Interstate 5. The SR 432 and Interstate 5 interchange is known by many as the Longview Wye.
Until 1992, SR 432 began in Longview where Nichols Blvd junctioned SR 4. Nichols Blvd is a 2 lane city street, which travels southeasterly into downtown Longview. Nichols Blvd becomes Tennant Way and widens to four lanes after crossing 15th Ave/Oregon Way. SR 432 then had its current routing from the interchange with Industrial Way and SR 411 to its eastern terminus at Interstate 5.
SR 432 also was formerly a spur route of US 830 when it was in commission. It was known then as SR 832. SR 433 was also known as SR 833. When US 830 was dropped from the US highway system, SR 14 was commissioned east of Interstate 5, and SR 4 was incarnated west of Interstate 5. The SR 432 and SR 433 were also changed at that time.
