Tino Sanchez

Agustin Armando "Tino" Sanchez (born February 2, 1979 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico) is a former Minor League catcher for the Colorado Rockies organization.

Minor League career

Sanchez played professional baseball from by|1997, spending 1997-by|2003 in the Rockies minor league organization. He then played for the Bridgeport Bluefish, a team in the independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball in by|2004. Sanchez split time in by|2005 and by|2006 with the Bridgeport Bluefish and the Tulsa Drillers. In his minor league career, he was a .261/.339/.358 hitter with 29 home runs, 271 RBI, and 58 stolen bases.

Mike Coolbaugh incident

On July 22, 2007, Sanchez hit a foul line drive which hit Drillers first base coach Mike Coolbaugh. Coolbaugh died from the injury later that night. [Associated Press.
