The education production function is the application of the economics concept of a production function to the field of education, where the inputs and outputs of production are the students and resources going into a given school (or school district) and the resulting achievements (as measured through standardized test scores or similar means) upon graduation. There is no single specific education production function, as different researchers have considerably different ideas on what the relevant inputs and outputs of the function are.[cite book ]
