Route 70 was introduced on
2 March 1991 as a Monday to Saturday route running between Acton and Kensington, from the Gold Arrow Westbourne Park Garage using midibuses. On8 February 1993 the route was extended daytimes to South Kensington, and extended at all times on14 June 2000 when a Sunday service was also added. June 2000 also saw the contract pass from First to Thorpes from their Wembley Garage. During June 2003, the allocation moved to the new West Perivale Garage. The route is now operated by Metroline, following their purchase and subsequent renaming of Thorpe's during August 2004.Current route
