Brother Tode is a fictional character in the Marvel Universe.

Brother Tode is a Deviant with green skin and an oversized head. He was once the monarch of the Deviants, ruler of the Deviant Empire of Lemuria, husband of Queen Vira and father of Ranar.

Fictional character biography

Tode, as ruler of the Deviants, dispatched Kro to find the Celestials' cosmic beacon and destroy it. ["Eternals" Vol. 1 #1] He punished Kro when Kro failed to destroy the beacon, and then authorized Kro to attack New York City. ["Eternals" Vol. 1 #3] Tode was next seen observing a gladiatorial game between Ransak the Reject and Karkas the Mutate. There, Tode encountered Thena the Eternal. ["Eternals" Vol. 1 #8-9] Tode was in the City of Toads when the Celestial Eson caused the city to flood, although Tode's life was spared. ["Eternals" Vol. 1 #10]

Tode then led a successful invasion of the Eternals' city Olympia, in which Eternals were captured and imprisoned via brain mines. Tode supervised the distillation of the Eternals' immortality, and consumed the energy of the discorporated Eternals in an attempt to gain immortality. His plan was thwarted by Iron Man II and the Eternals. ["Iron Man Annual" #6]

It was later revealed that Tode, along with the other Deviants in the City of Toads when the Eternals defeated them, was transformed by the Eternals by molecular rearrangement into a large organic cube which was then lowered into Olympia's foundation. ["Avengers" #247] The block of transmuted Deviants was then towed by the Eternal Uni-Mind into space. ["Avengers" #248]

Powers and abilities

Tode has no superhuman powers. In fact, due to the size of his head, his mobility is limited and he must rely on his bearers. He does possess great leadership capacity, however.
