"Mitra", the miter shells or miter snails, is a genus of marine gastropod mollusks in the family Mitridae. These are medium to large sea snails with shells that are considered attractive to collectors; the shells are solid, high-spired and are often colorful.

The genus is named after the ecclesiastical headgear, the miter, because of the shells' general shape.
