Wyong Public School

Wyong Public School

Wyong Public School is situated on the Central Coast, north of Gosford, New South Wales. The township of Wyong was first established in 1887. The first Wyong School was opened on 2 July 1888 in temporary premises known as Watt's Concert Hall. In May 1889, the pupils moved to the Alison Road School. In September 1979, the new school opened at the present site in Cutler Drive, Wyong.

There are 4 sports houses, which were originally formed and named in 1951. Kookaburra, Wallaby (common in the bush where the school is now), Platypus (often seen in the river behind Wyong High), and Koala (which were plentiful in Wyong).

The design of Wyong School is quite futuristic still today and it provides a great learning environment. The large library is at the heart of the school and we have an excellent computer lab within the library. Parents and community members are welcomed helpers in the partnership between school and home to develop our students to achieve their "Personal Best" (school motto).

Wyong School provides many opportunities for our students to grow and learn: academic, sporting, musical (choir and dance), environmental awareness, and personal development. The school offers many opportunities in a variety of areas. The teachers are enthusiastic and dedicated to the needs and development of every child. There are two Opportunity Classesclarifyme, an IM classclarifyme, STLD support and Aboriginal teacher's aids.
