In 1984 he returned to produce the creator-owned "Six From Sirius" under Epic Comics. He continued producing mainly science-fiction and his own characters until the end of the eighties apart from a few works with a pulp sensibility (Valkyrie, Shanna) when he started working on existing characters again in 1988. In the 1990s he mainly worked on Batman and science-fiction movie properties (Terminator, Predator, Star Wars) as well as working for Valiant where he co-created the crime comic "Grackle".

In 2002 he combined his interests for science-fiction and spy stories in "S.C.I. Spy" and returned to the character that had made him famous with "Master of Kung Fu". But 2003 saw his last creation to date. His last works have all been for either Marvel or DC.
