Schlumberger , which providedsoftware products and services to the hydrocarbon exploration and production industry.Products
Products covered six major activities of exploration and production: interpretation and visualization, reservoir modeling and simulation, full reservoir characterization, mapping and modeling, data management, and drilling and production.
History
Established in 1984 as GeoQuest Systems, Inc. by five founders including
Russell Herron and Jim Emmons, GeoQuest was later purchased byRaytheon Corp.GeoQuest Systems was sold to Schlumberger in 1992. Schlumberger established the GeoQuest product line the folloing year, which merged their Data Services grou, Finder Graphics, and GeoQuest Systems. In July 1999, GeoQuest acquired Merak Projects, a reserves, economics and field optimization software company. As Schlumberger began to integrate its acquired brands, GeoQuest became part of SIS.
