Syed Mehboob

Dr. Syed Mehboob is a researcher, educationist, columnist, story writer and author from Sindh, Pakistan. He had been working in Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Ltd the largest value-added exporter of Pakistan for 14 years. He is multilingual writer, he writes in English, Hindko, Punjabi, Urdu and Sindhi. Ancestrally he belongs to Hazara Division, his father is from Kuthiala a village 15 km from Abbottabad, from where his ancestors migrated and settled in Sindh.

Career

Textile industry

Dr Mehboob is a pioneer in the Pakistani textile industry who introduced marketing research, competitive analysis, strategic marketing, business and economic analysis for the first time in Pakistan. He produced research reports on Pakistan, India, China, UAE, Sri Lanka and the Bangladesh textile industry. He also produced research and analysis reports on Pakistan famous textile organisations including Gul Ahmed, Al Karam, Nishat, Yunus Brothers, Crescent and Chenab. He also served in Baig Group of companies another famous name in Pakistani textiles.He also served at Amn Textilesoircing a buying house. Currently he is serving at Lumentex a prominent textile sourcing organization as Director Marketing.

Journalism

His research reports are also published in stock review a weekly business magazine of The Financial Daily. So far his more than 200 articles has been published in various newspapers and magazines. His articles are regularly published in Weekly Stock Review on capital and stock market. Stock Review is the reliable and informative weekly magazine publishes up to date information and news on financial and capital markets.

Education

He is also leading a team of young writers. He also helps students in writing their thesis on textile and economics. One of his fiction has been selected to publish in 14 countries. He is also an author of a book. He is honorary member of "Pakistan Electronic Media Association". Honorary Director "Dua-e-Maryam Academy", Hyderabad. Ex secretary general "House of Business" an umbrella of small and medium business people. His son "Hafiz Abdunafey" is a story writer and writes story for children. Dr. Syed Mehboob received doctorate degree from "American University", an MBA in Marketing, won scholarship from "Ministry of Education", Islamabad won Gold medal from "Board of Intermediate and secondary education", Hyderabad.

He writes on economics, social, political, poverty alleviation, education and empowerment of women. His family rendered valuable services in social and educational field. He has published more than 200 articles so far. He is serving at "Arshmaan Media Agency" as research director and works on research for different TV channels including AAJ TV. He conducted a training programme for youths with collaboration of "Webtech Trust International".He has been invited as Guest Speaker at various institutes. Recently he has been selected as external evaluator at PAFKIET to evaluate its BBA and MBA students research projects.
