"Phlebodium" is a small genus of two to four species of ferns, native to tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas.Ferns of the World: [http://homepages.caverock.net.nz/~bj/fern/phlebodium.htm "Phlebodium"] ] Flora of North America: [http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=1&taxon_id=125032 "Phlebodium"] ] Germplasm Resources Information Network: [http://www.ars-grin.gov/cgi-bin/npgs/html/splist.pl?9254 "Phlebodium"] ] The genus is closely related to "Polypodium", and the species were formerly included in that genus.

They are epiphytic ferns, with a creeping, densely hairy or scaly rhizome bearing fronds at intervals along its length. The fronds are evergreen, persisting for 1-2 years, and are pinnatifid. The sori or groups of spore-cases (sporangia) are borne on the back of the frond.
