Madagascar ; they are primarily found in highland habitats with clear, swift water. "G. arcuatus" is found in theSandrananta River basin and "G. ornatus" from theMangoro River basin; "G. brevibarbis" is only known from the holotype, which is apparently from theMananjary River basin. "G. atratus" is from theMananara du Nord River drainage in northeastern Madagascar. These fish range in size from about 17.1–25.0centimetre s (6.7–9.8 in) in length.FishBase species|genus=Gogo|species=arcuatus|year=2007|month=July] FishBase species|genus=Gogo|species=brevibarbis|year=2007|month=July] FishBase species|genus=Gogo|species=ornatus|year=2007|month=July]"G. atratus" is strictly nocturnal. It reproduces at the end of the dry season and at the onset of the rainy season. The size of the eggs suggests that this species exhibits parental care, though this is unproven. "G. atratus" feed on aquatic
insect s and small freshwatershrimp .References
