USS "Aspire" (AM-146) was an built for the
U.S. Navy duringWorld War II . She was built to clear minefields in offshore waters, and was given to theSoviets under theLend-lease program.She was laid down on
1 November 1942 atTampa, Florida , by theTampa Shipbuilding Co.; launched on27 December 1942 ; sponsored by Mrs. F. M. Arenberg; and completed on29 September 1943 .Transfer to the Soviet Union
That same day, "Aspire" was turned over to the
USSR under thelend-lease program. She served in theSoviet Navy as T-119. The Soviets never returned her to the United States.Disposition
She was carried on the American Navy List as MSF-146 after
7 February 1955 until struck on1 January 1983 . (She had been scrapped by the Soviets4 November 1966 .)References
