USS "Arcade" (AM-143) was an built for the
U.S. Navy duringWorld War II . She was built to clear minefields in offshore waters, and was given to theSoviets under thelend-lease program.She was laid down on
8 June 1942 atTampa, Florida , by theTampa Shipbuilding Co.; launched on7 December 1942 ; sponsored by Miss V. Zoll; and completed on26 August 1943 .Transfer to the Soviet Union
Turned over to the
USSR that same day under the lend-lease program, she served theSoviet Navy as "T-116".Disposition
Never returned, the minesweeper was carried on the Navy List under the designation MSF-143 after
7 February 1955 until1 January 1983 at which time her name was struck. She had been scrapped by the Soviets on4 May 1963 .References
