- Alfred Cadman
Sir Alfred Jerome Cadman (1847 – 23 March 1905) was a
New Zealand politician of the Liberal Party. He was theMinister of Railways from 1895 to 1899 in the First Liberal Government.He was the Member of Parliament for several electorates: Coromandel 1881-1890, Thames 1890-1893, City of Auckland 1893, Waikato 1893-1896 and Ohinemuri 1896 to 1899, when he resigned. In 1899 he was then appointed to the
New Zealand Legislative Council , of which he was a member and the Speaker from 1904, until he died.He was awarded the CMG in 1901 and the KCMG in 1903.
