Kim Taek-Yong (born in South Korea on 3 November, 1989), better known by the pseudonym Bisu [Shield] (Bisu meaning Dagger in Korean), is a relatively new player in the South Korean StarCraft e-Sports scene. On September 2007, he was ranked first in the world by KeSPA, making Taek-yong the first Protoss player to be ranked first in the KeSPA Player Rankings. He is also known in the StarCraft Progaming community as Bruce Lee Toss (due to his likeness to the martial arts actor and the race that he plays as (Protoss)).

Team

Bisu started his progaming career being part of MBCGame Hero, a South Korean e-Sports team sponsored by MBCGame, a subsidiary of MBC Plus which is a company owned by the Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation, one of four major South Korean television and radio networks. In February 2008 Bisu transferred to rival team SK Telecom T1 for a transfer sum rumored to be around 200,000 US dollars.

Bisu was initially recruited onto MBCGame Hero (known then as Pirates of Space) in early 2005 to combat the lack of Protoss players on the team. Bisu started playing teamplay games for his team, before moving onto individual matches.

This earned Bisu the distinction of being the first Protoss gamer to win two MSLs in a row. However, in season 3 of the MSL, he was defeated by inter.mind in the final by 3 games to 1.

Bisu is also famous for his consistency in scouting and his use of Dark Templars, as well as for innovating new, different build orders, dubbed the "Bisu Build" by his fans. Bisu also became the first Protoss gamer to be ranked #1 by the Korean e-Sports Association (KeSPA), a title he held until March of 2008.

Recent Achievements

Recently, Bisu has fallen into a "slump," losing much more than he was before. He was defeated by Song Byung Goo [http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/players/59_Stork] , better known as Stork, 3-0, in the current OSL, an opponent who he had defeated in the MSL with the same score a few years ago.
