CIGNA Golf Classic

CIGNA Golf Classic

The CIGNA Golf Classic is an annual golf tournament for professional women golfers on the Duramed FUTURES Tour, the LPGA's developmental tour. The event has been played since 1999 in the Hartford, Connecticut area.

The title sponsor since 2005 has been CIGNA, a health service company based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Tournament is a 54-hole event, as are most FUTURES Tour tournaments, and includes pre-tournament pro-am opportunities, in which local amateur golfers can play with the professional golfers from the Tour as a benefit for local charities. The benefiting charities from the CIGNA Golf Classic are various breast cancer charities in the Hartford area.

*2000: Connecticut FUTURES Golf Classic
*2001-2003: Lincoln Financial FUTURES Golf Classic
*2004: GMAC FUTURES Golf Classic
*2005-: CIGNA Golf Classic

The 2008 tournament was held July 11-13 at Gillette Ridge on the CIGNA Campus in Bloomfield, Conn.

Winners

^Tournament shortened to 36 holes because of rain.
^Championship won in sudden-death playoff.
