- HMS Belliqueux (1780)
HMS "Belliqueux" was a 64-gun
third rate ship of the line of theRoyal Navy , launched on5 June 1780 at Blackwall. She was named after the French ship HMS|Belliqueux|1758|2 captured in1758 .In
1781 "Belliqueux" took part at theBattle of Fort Royal , and in1782 she was at theBattle of the Saintes ."Belliqueux" was employed as a
prison ship from1814 , and was broken up in1816 .Philip Dundas , Lieutenant-Governor of Penang died on-board on 8th April, 1807, while the Belliqueux was at the Bay of Bengal.
