Violinist Toshiya Eto and Koji Toyoda were amongst the first students of the famous educator Shinichi Suzuki after he returned toJapan from studying inGermany . At that time, Koji Toyoda was only three and a half. He continued his studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur inParis . Later, he studied withGeorge Enesco andArthur Grumiaux . He received theBach medal of theHarriet Cohen International Music Award inLondon and also awards at international competitions inParis ,Brussels [ [http://www.suzukimethod.or.jp/English/E_mthd42.html|Suzuki Method Website] ] , [ [http://www.paganini.comune.genova.it/premio_quarta_giugno2002_giurati_eng.htm|] ] andGeneva 's Concours International d'Exécution Musicale [2] . He was theconcertmaster of theBerlin Radio-Philharmonic Orchestra from 1962 to 1979. He was a professor at the Hochschule der Künste inBerlin from 1979 to 2000. He was one of the founder and the firstmusic director of the Kusatsu International Summer Music Academy and Festival, and the director of theGunma Symphony Orchestra. He assumed the Presidency of the Talent Education Research Institute, akaSuzuki method after Shinichi Suzuki died in 1998.
