Maryam Moshiri

Maryam Moshiri is a regular presenter of the afternoon and evening business news on BBC News, the corporation's rolling 24 hour news channel.

Broadcasting career

Maryam started her career as a business reporter for Independent Radio News.[1]

Maryam is also a weekend presenter on BBC World News. Maryam has occasionally presented the BBC1 8pm News Summary and, as main presenter, on the BBC News Channel (in December 2006 and August 2008).

Personal life

Maryam's sister, Nazanine Moshiri, is a London-based presenter and correspondent with Al Jazeera English having previously been a newsreader and reporter on ITV's London Tonight and the ITV Morning News.

Both Maryam and Nazanine were born in Tehran, and came to London with their parents before the Iranian Revolution.

Mayram graduated from University College London in 2000 with a BA in Italian.[2] She is a keen tennis player with her backhand having been compared favourably to that of rising British talent Anna Smith.[citation needed]
