stolon iferousherbaceous perennialaquatic plant growing to 70–200 cm tall inacid ic pools and lakes up to 2 m deep. The leaves are linear to oblong, 2.5–7.5 cm long, produced in a basal rosette underwater. Theflower s are 1–2 cm long, with a five-lobed white to pale pink or pale blue corolla, produced one to ten on an erectraceme held above the water surface.
