Lake Holiday is a gated community situated around a man-made reservoir located north of Winchester in Frederick County, Virginia, United States. Lake Holiday is approximately three miles southwest of the boundary with the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. The postal address is Cross Junction but Lake Holiday and the surrounding community lies within unincorporated land in Frederick County.

Lake Holiday has land for hiking, a man-made beach, a dock for boats, and tennis and basketball courts which are located near the newly-renovated club house. The lake flows into Isaacs Creek. The main creeks feeding the lake are Isaac Creek and Miller's Run along with many small un-named creeks that flow into the lake. Lake Holiday has their own private security patrol and there are no law enforcement or fire/EMS facilites at Lake Holiday and they rely on outside sources for these from Frederick County Va. Typical Volunteer response time is 15-20 minutes after dispatch. the current ISo rating for Gainsboro VFD is a 10. ISO or insurance service rating is how property insurance companies rate fire departments and thier capability, it runs 1 - 10. 1 being the best or most capabile and 10 being worst, or no department at all. Most insurace compaine rate this department a 10, and some others rate it a 9. This rating is based on training, equpitment, water supply, various required tools and response times. As such your home owners insurance will be considerably be higher then if you lived in City of Winchester. Some inusrance compaines won't offer insurace stating the hazard is to great.

Previously known as "The Summit", Lake Holiday is a gated community of about 1200 homes and 2700 building lots. This is the primary residential area in Cross Junction, it is built around a large 240 plus acre manmade lake, from which the community derives its name. Unlike other Virginia "gated lake communities" i.e. "Lake of the Woods" in Orange Va., it has no public safety service / fire and ems and relies on other outside communities in Frederick County Virginia which may take much longer for emergency response. There is a great deal of political strife in this community with fighting factions on the home owners association, which has greatly hurt community development. The community is awaiting a major Virginia Court decision which may dissolve the community as a gated community and the home owners association. This decision is to be handed down by July 3rd 2008, Virginia Senator Jill Vogel has tried to introduce legislation into the Code of Virginia, and thus interfere with the Judicial Process
