Kanakaris

The Kanakaris (Greek: Κανακάρης) family were an old and rich family that lived in Patras.

The descendent of the Patraean branch was Kyriazis Kanakaris, in which together with his brother Angelakis moved to Patras in the beginning of the 16th century. The Kanakaris descended from Livadia in the Viotia, a modern prefecture. His important role was the showing of his family which was secure in which took place with their family with the Notarades from Corinth. The two brothers remain childless when he was married. Later, Rodis Kanakaris from the fear of the disappearance of his family, reconciliated with his brother. They later raised Athanasioa, Rodis and Loukas. Loukas added his last name Kanakaris. One of the family members ran for the Mayor of Patras, Prime Minister and Presidents of Greece, politicians, prefectural governors, ministers, etc.

Today, the descendants of the Kanakaris-Roufos lives in the Greek capital city of Athens.
