Armeno-Kipchak

Armeno-Kipchak

Armeno-Kipchak is the Turkic language of the Kipchak people which was current in the 16th and 17th centuries among the Armenian communities settled in the Lviv and Kamianets-Podilskyi area of what is now Ukraine. [Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland - Page 85 by Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland]

When members of the Armenian diaspora moved from the Crimean peninsula to the Polish-Ukrainian borderland in the end of the thirteenth century, they brought Kipchak, their adopted Middle Turkic language with them.
