Scripps Ranch High School (SRHS), located in Northeast San Diego, California, United States, serves the Scripps Ranch community as well as students participating in the Voluntary Enrollment Exchange Program (VEEP) bussing program of the San Diego Unified School District. For 2006, the base API score was 775 with a target score of 800. Overall, most ethnic groups performed well, consistently just missing their target API score of 800. In March 2007, the SRHS Falcons defeated Junipero Serra High School in the CIF San Diego Section Division II Championship, earning the school's first CIF Basketball title. Scripps Ranch re-developed its physical plant by installing an artificial turf field and all-weather track in the summer of 2006.

Wrestling took first place in CIF for the 2006-2007 year.

Its rival schools are the Mira Mesa High School Marauders, St. Augustine High School Saints, and Cathedral Catholic High School Dons.

Scripps Ranch High School features a Academic League team that has attended the National Academic Championship sponsored by [http://qunlimited.com Questions Unlimited] for the past eight years, and in 2002 was the second-place team in tournament.

Publications

Scripps Ranch High School's student-produced newspaper is the "Falcon Flyer" and yearbook is known as the "Legend". It is also home to a number of other limited release publications such as the award-winning yearly LitMag.

Instrumental music

Dean Hickman founded the program in 1993 from the ground up. Over the years, the school has had many ensembles including a string quintet, string orchestra, full orchestra, concert band, steel drum band, jazz band, and The Rising Star Marching Band and Pageantry.

The ensembles have traveled worldwide, including Hawaii in 1997, Bahamas in 1999, The Peoples' Republic of China in 2001, Chicago in 2006, and Seattle and Vancouver in 2008.

One of the most distinguished awards that the marching band received was the Walter Brennan Sweepstakes Award at the Camarillo Christmas Parade. The group won the award annually for their participation throughout the late 90's throughout the early 2000s (13 of the past 14 years).
