Billy Graham Library

Billy Graham Library

=The Billy Graham Library=

in Charlotte, N.C., a few miles from where Mr. Graham grew up on a dairy farm.

The Library conveys the story of Billy Graham —"the man, the ministry, the message, and the mission" and is styled after a dairy barn to reflect Mr. Graham's childhood on a farm.

From the lobby area of the Library, visitors enter the main path of galleries that extends into the 40,000 square foot complex. The galleries showcase numerous, short audio/visual presentations, pictures, sets, music, artifacts from historical occasions, and voices from people all around the world.

One gallery is entirely devoted to Ruth Bell Graham, the late wife of the evangelist. There is an animated cow, Bessie, in the lobby of the Library, as well as a dairy bar café and bookstore called "Ruth's Attic." All visitors enter the Library through doors at the base of a 40-foot glass cross.

The tour is self-guided. Also located on the Library grounds is the Prayer Garden, where Mrs. Graham was buried on June 17, 2007. She was against being buried there, and preferred her home in the mountains to be her final resting place until just before she died.

Visiting Hours and Location

The Library is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily and is closed Sundays. It is located along the Billy Graham Parkway between I-77 and I-85. Admission to the Library is free.
