"Pseudotothyris" is a genus of catfishes (order Siluriformes) of the family Loricariidae. Taxonomy

Within the tribe Otothyrini, "Pseudotothyris" has a sister group relationship with "Otothyris". The degree of development of the swimbladder capsule in these genera was not found in any other member of the Otothyrini.

Distribution

"P. janeirensis" originates from the Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil and "P. obtusa" originates from southeastern Brazil.
