John Cartledge

John Cartledge

John Cartledge (May 16, 1855 — July 8, 1907; born John Cartledge Foster) was an English cricketer who played for Derbyshire in the 1878 season. He was born in Burton Joyce and died in Stoke Bardolph.

Cartledge took part in a Derbyshire vs. All England Eleven fixture in 1878 in which Derbyshire lost by seven wickets. Nine of the players in the All England Eleven were past, present, or future Test cricketers, and Cartledge was dismissed by Alfred Shaw and Dick Barlow. He played as a lower-middle order batsman.
