Song

Inspired by events in newspapers, Horn wrote the song at age ten. The song focuses on issues such as divorce, adultery and child neglect, all through the eyes of young children.

The song tells of a family broken apart because of the father cheating on his wife. The mother comes home from work late to find her husband sleeping while their children are left unfed. Another point in the song, the mother makes a phone call to his work place and then tries his cell phone, both to no avail.

She later finds out her husband has cheated on her when she finds lipstick on his briefcase. The children Horn mentions in the song have no clue what has happened to their family when the mother tells them that "Daddy has a new friend". Eventually, the two divorce, leaving their children confused and sad.

Writing the song

Horn wrote the lyrics herself, but didn't know how to write the music for the song. Her now former vocal coach, Bob Westbrook, then helped her compose the song after she sang the lyrics to him. [ [http://www.geocities.com/thecoolchip03/sundaystar.htm Singer, 10, making 2nd trip to Nashville ] ]

The song was recorded in 2003 in Nashville at Jay's Place, a well-known recording studio. Michael Black, a background vocalist who has worked with John Michael Montgomery, LeAnn Rimes among other musicians, was Horn's background vocal. After its release, the single managed to sell 4,000 copies through her official website.
