Baldwin FitzGilbert [Baldwin the Sherriff, Baudoin of Exeter, Baudoin de Meules, Baldwin the Viscount, Baudoin de Meules et du Sap, Baldwin de Brionne.] (died 1090) was a Norman nobleman [Frank Barlow, "William Rufus" (1983), p. 162, confirming his father and brother.] , who was granted manors in Devon [ [http://www.hemyockcastle.co.uk/dev-man.htm] , lists manors; [http://www.blackdown-hills.net/parishchests/clayhidon/map/domesday/domesday.htm] with Domesday Survey extract; [http://www.exwick.eclipse.co.uk/Exwick.html] says 159 manors in Devon.] , south-west England. He was originally from Meules.

Family

He was a son of Gilbert, Count of Brionne [ [http://www.stirnet.com/HTML/genie/continent/mn/normans1.htm normans1 ] ] , and brother of Richard FitzGilbert. He had three sons, William, Robert and Richard, all of whom died childless [Barlow, p. 469.] .
