Robin Smith (climber)

Robin Smith was a British climber of the pioneering 1950s and early 1960s. He fell to his death on a snow slope in the Pamirs, during an Anglo-Soviet expedition, at the age of 23.

Born in India in 1938, he was sent home to Scotland aged eight. He attended Morrisons Academy in Crieff, followed by boarding at George Watson's College.

Robin's climbing partner was Dougal Haston.
