- Simon Sabiani
Simon Sabiani (1888-1956) was a French politician. From 1929 to 1935, he was the first counsellor ("adjoint") to the mayor of
Marseille ,Siméon Flaissières . After Flaissières' death in 1931, he became for a short period mayor during the interim.Sabiani was originally a media boss, from
Corsican origins and withSocialist convictions. However, he oriented himself towardsFascism during theinterwar period , becoming a member of the political bureau ofJacques Doriot 's "Parti populaire français " (PPF). He was head of the local section of the PPF starting in 1936.Sabiani worked tightly with figures of the Marseillese underworld, such as
Paul Carbone ,François Spirito andAntoine Guérini . He collaborated duringWorld War II and exiled himself with François Spirito after the Liberation.Bibliography
