Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States

The Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS) is a United States organization and advocacy group dedicated to sex and sexuality education, sexual health, and sexual rights. SIECUS is based in New York City with a public policy office in Washington, D.C.. It is a prominent opponent of abstinence-only sex education.

SIECUS was formed in 1964 by a clergyman, a physician, a lawyer, a sociologist, a family life educator, and a public health educator. Mary Calderone served as its president until 1982; Debra Haffner was its president from 1988 to May 2000. Joseph DiNorcia, Jr. is its current president.
