Carestream Health, formerly Eastman Kodak Company's Health Group, is an independent subsidiary of Onex Corporation, Toronto, Canada.

Carestream Health, Inc., is an internationally successful company providing medical and dental imaging systems and information technology solutions; molecular imaging systems; and non-destructive testing products to a broad base of customers around the world.

Onex Corporation, Toronto, Canada, acquired the Health Group of Eastman Kodak Company in a multi-billion-dollar transaction in May 2007. Upon closing, the business began operating as a standalone entity (i.e., Carestream Health, Inc.) within the Onex family of companies.

Today, Carestream Health, headquartered in Rochester, N.Y., has some 8,000 employees serving tens of thousands of customers in more than 150 countries.

Carestream Health is building momentum in each of its businesses. Its Digital Capture Solutions business offers more choices for imaging—from general radiography to specialty applications like mammography, oncology, orthopedic and CAD—to meet the needs of healthcare providers. Its computed radiography (CR) systems facilitate the transition to digital radiography by maximizing workflow and delivering high-resolution image quality. Carestream Health’s digital radiography (DR) solutions feature faster capture-to-output performance and the ability to distribute original images locally and remotely.

The company’s Healthcare Information Solutions business provides complete workflow solutions that centralize information and strengthen patient care, thereby answering the challenges of rising medical costs and the growing need to collaborate among medical professionals. Carestream Health’s customized, scalable solutions—including CARESTREAM RIS/PACS and Information Management Solutions—seamlessly integrate images and patient information for processing, diagnosis, sharing and storage.

Carestream Health also holds the No. 1 global market for medical films. In addition to x-ray film, the company’s Medical Films & Printing Solutions business provides digital mammography solutions and market-leading laser imagers for printing patient medical images.

The Dental Systems group continues expanding its global leadership as a premier provider of advanced dental digital imaging systems and practice management solutions. Another key business—Carestream Molecular Imaging—develops digital imaging systems, imaging agents, film and accessories for the life science research and drug discovery markets.

The company’s business portfolio is rounded out by its highly successful Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) group, which provides unique film and digital imaging systems to a broad range of industrial radiography customers around the world.
