Habitat

This species requires clean, calcium-rich water, which is slow-running and thickly weeded.

hell description

The shell of the species grows to be 6.5 mm (one quarter inch) in maximum dimension.

Parasites

This species can act as first intermediate host for "Prosthogonimus ovatus" [http://wildlife1.wildlifeinformation.org/S/0zAPlat_Trematod/Plag_Hapl_Prosthogonimus/Prosthogonimus_ovatus.htm as "Bithynia leachei" (sic!)]
