"Chandni Chowk To China" is a Bollywood film slated for release on 16th January 2009. It will be directed by Nikhil Advani and stars Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. Veteran Star Mithun Chakraborty too plays an important role in this Film. The film is the first Bollywood film to be shot in China.This is Warner Bros. Pictures's second Bollywood film, Saas Bahu aur Sensex (2008) being the first.

He himself agreed that about 50% of the film is based on his life. Shooting began in January 2008 and included a schedule in China.Nikhil Advani later announced that Deepika Padukone will be essaying a double role in the film. Deepika Padukone plays a Chinese Woman and an Indian Woman. Chinese superstar Gordon Liu will make his Bollywood debut.

The music is by Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy. The movie also features music by Kailash Kher. Work on the music has officially begun and is slated to release in October this year.

ynopsis

An action-comedy about a simple cook from Chandni Chowk (Akshay Kumar) mistaken for the reincarnation of an ancient Chinese warrior by the villagers of an oppresed Chinese village.
