Professor Elizabeth Triegaardt is a South African ballet dancer. Since 1986 she has been the Director of the UCT School of Dance. From 1997 to 2004 she has been the executive chairman of the Cape Town City Ballet. Since her resignation she has remained the executive director of the company.

Biography

Elizabeth Triegaardt matriculated from Hyde Park High School, Johannesburg, South Africa and graduated from the University of Cape Town in 1966 with a BSc, majoring in pure mathematics [ [http://www.capetowncityballet.org.za/company.php Cape Town City Ballet:Meet the Company] accessed 12th August 2007] . She joined CAPAB in 1967 and became a principal dancer, and later ballet mistress, until her retirement in 1990. She also presents a programme on Fine Music Radio (which is based in Cape Town) every Sunday called "Introduction to the Ballet".

Awards
