American Nurses Credentialing Center
- American Nurses Credentialing Center
The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) is the largest[] ]
nursing credentialing organization in the United States. It is a subsidiary of the American Nurses Association. The ANCC offers credentialing programs in a specialty: ambulatory care nursing, cardiac rehabilitation, emergency nursing, geriatric nursing, medical-surgical nursing, child health nursing, perinatal, or psychiatric or mental health nursing.References
According to a letter from the ANCC, the ANCC requires four to six weeks to acknowledge receipt of an application, 10 weeks to determine whether a nurse's completed application is adequate and, assuming no additional information is requested, eleven weeks to provide an Authorization to Test. Nurses applying for credentialing from the ANCC should allow three months AFTER completing the application. This may be critical to nurses hired with a fixed timeframe in which to renew their credentials.
